Sharon is CEO of Genius Methods providing governance, board evaluation and board development services.
Sharon’s career spans company secretarial for JCI, a mining house, treasury management for Blue Circle and was a foreign exchange chief dealer for Société Générale before turning from corporate to entrepreneur. Sharon has worked with over 300 Boards providing risk management and governance services.
Her first business specialising in risk management listed on the Stock Exchange in the late 90’s. Sharon is a member of the IoD Board of Examiners, an interviewer for the IoD Chartered Director program and a member of the CfA’s Steering Committees for Corporate Governance, Company Secretarial and Risk Management Standards.
Sharon’s experience, governance and risk management knowledge enables her to support Chairmen, NED’s and Executive Directors in their challenge to improve board effectiveness. Sharon’s work spans listed, private, public and not-for=profit sectors. Sharon provides director mentoring and coaching, approaching the development needs from a practical, logical business perspective.
Roles, Education and Training
Sharon is also a Non-Executive director of Buckinghamshire Building Society and Director of Valufin which provides treasury management services in South Africa.
Sharon is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, she has an MBA and is a Chartered Director having completed the IoD’s Certificate and Diploma exams in Company Direction.
Sharon have lectured on a number of MBA programs on subjects ranging from Small Business Management to Service Industry Management and has presented many courses at Universities and for professional bodies on risk management, governance and board effectiveness.
